Weddings: Lendora and Eric

I met Lendora and Eric at the apartment complex where I used to live in Old Fourth Ward. They actually found me during an arts festival and snagged a business card. Their wedding took place at Le Maison Rouge at Paris on Ponce, an eclectic Atlanta venue that pays homage to Le Moulin Rouge in Paris.

After a trip to the venue, it’s clear that the Le Maison Rouge and this idea of Cabaret and Le Moulin Rouge will drive the design of their invitations and wedding. Below are some photos of the venue itself. Photos are courtesy of Le Maison Rouge:

From here, I chose black, red and gold as the color scheme. I extracted patterns found in the upholstery of seats, drapery, and wallpaper. Lendora loved the small paper lanterns that are strung everywhere.

Design elements:

The combination of these elements make up the backdrop of the invitation, RSVP, and detail cards. The couple added a map behind the detail card as an informational piece and keepsake for guests. The brushed calligraphy mimic the imperfect, handwritten typography of 1920’s Parisian menus and signage. Below is the final mock up of the entire suite.

Overall, this was easily the most eclectic invitation suite I’ve worked on. I’m so grateful that Lendora and Eric trusted me completely to create this for them. It was such a fun process, and I loved that their entire wedding was true to who they are and their personal style.

Cheers to the happy couple!
